Final Paper and Workshop/Tutorial  Submissions

Important Dates

·         Final Papers, Workshops and Tutorials may be submitted starting on April 4, 2008

·         Deadline for submission of all papers, workshops and tutorials: May 15, 2008

Final Paper Submission Process (excludes Workshop Presentations)

1.      Verify your Paper Has Been Accepted (excludes Workshop Papers)

You must first verify that you have received confirmation that your paper has been accepted without additional required changes (final acceptance of papers requiring updates will be completed and authors notified by April 15th).

2.      Complete registration for the 2008 Symposium 

All authors must register prior to submission of final papers.  Click here to Register

3.     Convert your document to PDF
To assure compatibility with IEEE Xplore, all papers should first be converted to PDF using IEEE PDF eXpress.  If the paper is already in PDF format, IEEE PD eXpress may be used to check your paper for compatibility with IEEE Xplore.

Go to the IEEE PDF eXpress website and:

a)       Create a IEEE PDF eXpress account, entering basic contact information; Authors will get email confirmation of account creation.   You will need the conference ID to do this.  The conference ID is emc08x

b)       Upload a PDF for Checking or source file(s) for Conversion. Authors will get email confirmation of file receipt.

c)       Submitted PDFs are Checked for IEEE Xplore®-compatibility; source file(s) are Converted to IEEE Xplore-compatible PDFs.

If a PDF is submitted: you will receive an email stating that PDF Passed or Failed the Check. If the PDF fails, a PDF Check report is attached to the email. Authors will need to go to their account and click "Understanding the PDF Check Report" for solutions.

If source is submitted: you will receive the IEEE PDF eXpress-generated PDF as an attachment, and through your IEEE PDF eXpress account. Review PDF to ensure that it views on screen and prints as you intended. 

d)       If necessary, revisions may be submitted (PDF or source); return to Step b).

Note:  Make sure that there are no grammatical, spelling,
or content errors in articles prior to submitting to PDF eXpress.

4.     Submit Your Paper

When you have an acceptable, IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF, submit this final PDF to the same location used for your original paper submission.  You will need use your registration ID, which was issued at the time of your initial paper submission.  Click on Here to submit your final paper

 

Workshop Presentation Submission Process

All Workshop presentations shall be submitted directly to IEEE. 

1.      Complete registration for the 2008 Symposium.  All authors must register prior to submission of final papers.  Click here to Register

2.     Go to the IEEE Conference eXpress website and:

a)       Create a IEEE eXpress account, entering basic contact information; Authors will get email confirmation of account creation.  The conference ID is emc08-ws

Note, you will still need to create an account even if you have previously registered for IEEE PDF eXpress.

b)       Upload the source file(s) for conversion to PDF.  Authors will get email confirmation of file receipt.

c)       When your PDF is ready for review, you will receive an email. The email will include your PDF as an attachment.

d)      Click on the paper title to view the PDF online. NOTE: Some browsers will cache the contents of your PDF. To ensure that you are viewing the current version of your PDF, clear your browser's cache. To clear cache from the window displaying your PDF, select "View" from the browser's toolbar; press & hold the "control" key and select "Refresh" from the drop down list.

e)      After you have reviewed the PDF and found the conversion to be acceptable, click on the "Approve Paper" link for the paper.

The link will only work (become active) once the file has been converted to PDF.  The link will become inactive after the PDF is approved.
