The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center is a premier city center hotel that rises to every occasion. Its location in the GM Renaissance Center provides easy access to a variety of shops, restaurants and services. It is conveniently connected to major downtown attractions by the city’s “People Mover” public transportation system. Floor-to-ceiling windows and dramatic views highlight guest rooms that also feature Marriott’s Revive® bedding, new 37 inch flat panel TVs and high-speed Internet access. The hotel’s downtown Detroit restaurant, RiverCafe, offers something for everyone in a contemporary atmosphere overlooking the Detroit River and Windsor, Canada. A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved for EMC 2008 attendees at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Make your reservations early! The conference rates are available for the dates of 9 August through 29 August 2008 based on availability. When making hotel reservations, please refer to the 2008 EMC Symposium to receive the discounted rate. Reservations must be made by 24 July 2008 to ensure the conference rate. Requests for accommodations received after the deadline will be accepted on a space available basis at the prevailing rate. Reservation requests for specific room types, views, and bedding are subject to availability at the time of arrival and are not guaranteed. The conference rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes (currently 15%) and are based on single or double occupancy. There will be a $20 per person per night charge for each additional person. The Hotel requires a one-night deposit in advance to accompany the reservation payable either in the form of a credit card or check/money order. Guaranteed reservations are held until 6:00 a.m. the following morning, at which time the reservation and deposit are forfeited. Deposit is refundable if cancellation is made before 6:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. The Hotel’s check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and checkout time is 12:00 p.m. Guests are permitted to check in earlier or check out later subject to room availability.
